Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), India’s premier engineering and manufacturing enterprise, has announced a major recruitment drive for Artisan Grade-IV positions across multiple units. Established in 1964, BHEL serves vital sectors such as Power, Industry, Transmission, Renewable Energy, Transportation, Defence, Aerospace, and Oil & Gas. Vacancy Details

BHEL invites online applications for 515 Artisan Grade-IV posts in various trades. The recruitment is spread across its manufacturing units located in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Jhansi.

• Fitter – 176
• Welder – 97
• Turner – 51
• Machinist – 104
• Electrician – 65
• Electronics Mechanic – 18
• Foundryman – 4

Total: 515 Vacancies (reservation applicable as per Govt. norms)

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification:
  Class 10th pass with National Trade Certificate (NTC/ITI) plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in the respective trade.
  • Minimum 60% marks (General/OBC)
  • Minimum 55% marks (SC/ST)
• Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025):
  • General/EWS – 27 years
  • OBC (NCL) – 30 years
  • SC/ST – 32 years
    (Relaxations applicable for PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and J&K domiciled candidates as per rules)
• Other Requirements:
  Knowledge of regional language preferred for Tamil Nadu, Telangana/Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka units. For other units, knowledge of Hindi is desirable.

Salary & Benefits

• Initially appointed as Temporary Employees for one year with consolidated wages (as per unit norms).
• After successful completion, candidates will be regularized as Artisan Grade-IV in the pay scale of:
  ₹29,500 – ₹65,000 plus allowances.

Selection Process

• Stage I: Computer Based Examination (CBE) – 100 marks test in respective trades.
• Stage II: Skill Test & Document Verification – Qualifying in nature.
• Final merit list will be based on CBE scores.

Special Preference: Candidates who were awarded Best Apprentice or Runner-up Apprentice in All India Skill Competitions will be given direct entry to Skill Test.

Application Fees

• UR / EWS / OBC: ₹1072 (₹600 exam fee + ₹400 processing fee + GST)
• SC / ST / PwD / Ex-Servicemen: ₹472 (processing fee + GST)
