Punjab & Sind Bank, a Government of India undertaking, has invited applications for the engagement of a Bank’s Medical Consultant on a contractual basis at its Zonal Office, Moga. The opportunity is open for qualified and experienced medical professionals who are looking to serve in a reputed public sector bank setup.
Post Details
Name of the Post: Medical Consultant (Contractual Basis)
Location: Zonal Office, Punjab & Sind Bank, Moga
Mode of Engagement: Contract (Initially for 2 years, extendable based on performance)
Working Hours: 08 hours per week (visiting days to be decided as per staff convenience)
Remuneration: Negotiable, up to ₹800 per hour
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications:
- M.D. in General Medicine recognized by the Medical Council of India with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.
OR - M.B.B.S. degree with at least 7 years of experience as a registered Medical Practitioner.
Preference:
- Candidates with an M.D. in General Medicine.
- Doctors empanelled with PSU/Banks (presently or previously).
Job Responsibilities
The selected Medical Consultant will be responsible for:
- Providing free medical consultation to bank staff and their families.
- Scrutinizing and certifying medical/hospitalization bills submitted by staff.
- Giving medical opinions for leave sanctions, transfers on medical grounds, etc.
- Conducting medical checkups for new recruits when required.
- Assisting the bank in medical cases as needed.
- Prescribing medicines and handling routine medical requirements.
- Supporting in emergencies and other duties assigned by the bank.
Contract & Service Conditions
- Initial contract period: 2 years (extendable based on performance).
- Either side can terminate the contract with 2 months’ notice.
- The consultant will not be eligible for benefits like leave, PF, gratuity, bonus, or reimbursement of medical expenses.
- Strict confidentiality regarding bank matters is mandatory.
- In case of prolonged absence, the consultant must arrange a suitable substitute at their own cost.
Selection Procedure
- Applications will be scrutinized by the bank.
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview (intimation via email).
- The final selection will be based on interview performance.
- The engagement letter will be sent by email to the selected candidate.
