IDBI Bank Ltd. invites applications from eligible candidates (Indian citizens, subjects of Nepal and Bhutan, Tibetan refugees (who came over to India before 1st January 1962) and persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Myanmar and Sri Lanka with the intentions of permanently settling in India and in whose favour eligibility Certificate have been issued by Government of India) for appointment as part time Bank’s Medical Officer (BMO) purely on contract basis, with fixed hourly remuneration for its Corporate Office/Zonal office/Staff Quarters.


Vacancy Details

Current openings are available at the following locations:

  • Thane – 1 Post
  • Kochi – 1 Post

Working hours will be communicated at the time of appointment.


Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • MBBS or MD degree from a recognized university or college approved by the Medical Council of India.
  • Preference will be given to applicants holding an MD in Medicine.

2. Experience Requirements

Experience must be counted from the date of registration with the appropriate Medical Council.

  • MBBS: Minimum 5 years’ experience as a General Practitioner as of 01.11.2025.
  • MD (Post Graduate Degree): Minimum 3 years’ experience as a General Practitioner as of 01.11.2025.
    Internship experience will not be considered.

3. Age Limit

Applicants should not be more than 67 years old as of 01 November 2025.

4. Citizenship

Eligible applicants include:

  • Indian citizens
  • Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan
  • Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before 1 January 1962
  • Persons of Indian origin who migrated from Myanmar or Sri Lanka with the intention of permanent settlement and possess a Government of India eligibility certificate

Contract Terms & Conditions

1. Duration of Contract

  • The contract is for an initial period of 3 years, reviewed annually.
  • Based on performance, the contract may be extended for an additional 2 years.
  • Either party may terminate the contract with one month’s notice.

2. Remuneration & Allowances

  • Hourly remuneration: ₹1000 per hour
  • Conveyance allowance: ₹2000 per month
  • Compounding fees (if applicable): ₹1000 per month
  • Leave entitlement: 20 days per year
    No benefits available to permanent or part-time permanent employees will be extended to this position.
    The Bank may revise remuneration or duty hours as required.

3. Additional Conditions

  • Only the services of a compounder may be engaged.
  • The BMO must arrange a substitute during any absence, at their own cost.

Job Responsibilities

The Part-Time Bank Medical Officer will be responsible for:

  • Visiting the assigned Bank dispensary at designated office or residential quarters.
  • Attending to medical needs of staff, dependents, and pensioners.
  • Providing diagnoses, medical advice, prescriptions, and administering injections or ordinary medicines.
  • Issuing and countersigning medical certificates when required.
  • Issuing order forms for special or high-cost medicines through approved chemists and ensuring timely bill submission.
  • Arranging hospital facilities for employees or their families when needed.
  • Scrutinizing medical and hospitalization bills of staff and pensioners.
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of the dispensary.
  • Providing emergency medical sessions and telemedicine consultations as required.
  • Offering medical opinions to administrative offices for staff transfer requests on medical grounds.
  • Assisting with any other medical-related needs of the Bank.

Selection Process

Applications will be screened, and eligible candidates will be invited for a Personal Interview before a selection panel. The Bank reserves the right to modify eligibility criteria, reject applications, or accept or decline candidates without providing reasons. Canvassing in any form will result in disqualification.
Correspondence will not be entertained with candidates who are not shortlisted.
