Punjab & Sind Bank Recruitment 2025 – Lateral Recruitment of Local Bank Officers (JMGS-I)
Punjab & Sind Bank, a Government of India undertaking, has released an official notification for the Lateral Recruitment of Local Bank Officers in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). Interested and eligible candidates are invited to apply online for this opportunity. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria carefully before submitting their application.

Vacancy Details:
A total of 750 vacancies have been announced across various states. Vacancies are distributed state-wise and candidates can apply for only one state. Proficiency in the local language of the state applied for is mandatory.
Reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities will be applicable as per Government of India guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria:
Nationality:
Candidates must be Indian citizens or meet the nationality requirements as specified in the official notification.
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025):
- Minimum: 20 years
- Maximum: 30 years
- Age relaxations apply to SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and candidates affected by the 1984 riots.
Educational Qualification:
- A Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
- Candidates must possess a valid degree/mark-sheet at the time of registration.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 18 months of experience in Officer Cadre in any Public Sector Bank or Regional Rural Bank on a regular basis.
- Experience in NBFCs, Cooperative Banks, Private Banks, Payment Banks, Small Finance Banks or Fintechs will not be considered.
Pay Scale & Benefits:
- JMGS-I Pay Scale: ₹48,480 – 85,920 (with applicable increments).
- Additional benefits include DA, HRA/leased accommodation, CCA, medical facilities, LTC, terminal benefits, and other allowances as per bank norms.
- Increments for JAIIB and CAIIB qualifications will be protected.
Selection Procedure:
The selection process will include:
- Online Written Test
- Screening
- Personal Interview
- Language Proficiency Test (for local language)
- Final Merit List
The written test will consist of sections on English Language, Banking Knowledge, General Awareness/Economy, and Computer Aptitude. Candidates must qualify in each section and secure minimum overall marks to proceed to the interview.

- SC/ST/PwBD Candidates: ₹100 + applicable taxes & charges
- General/EWS/OBC Candidates: ₹850 + applicable taxes & charges
