Employees’ State Insurance Corporation which is a statutory body constituted under an Act of Parliament (ESI Act, 1948) and works under the administrative control of Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, invites applications for immediate engagement of Teaching Faculty in the post of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor & Senior Residents at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Beltola, Guwahati-22.

📌 Date & Time of Interview:
For Pre and Paraclinical Subjects: 24.06.2025.
For Clinical Subjects: 25.06.2025.

Chamber of the Dean, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Beltola, Guwahati-781022.

📌 Reporting Time for Document verification: 09:00 am to 09:30 am.
#Candidates, whose documents are verified only will be allowed to attend WALK IN INTERVIEW.

📝 Candidates for teaching faculties of outstation may appear the interview in online mode. However, Senior Residents are not allowed to appear Online. The meeting code will be shared on the day of interview.

02. For Senior Resident: Not exceeding 45 years as on the date of Document verification & Interview.

Name of the Post: Professor
Education & Experience: 8 year post PG experience

For GENERAL DISCIPLINES:
Academic Qualifications: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject.
Teaching and Research Experience:
i: Associate Professor in the subject for three years in a permitted/ recognized medical college/ institution.
ii: Should have at least four Research publications (at least two as Associate Professor) [only original papers, meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and case series that are published in journals indexed in Medline, PubMed Central, Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded, Embase, Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DoAJ) will be considered]. The author should be among the first three or corresponding author.
iii: Should have completed the basic course in Medical Education Technology from institutions designated by NMC.
iv: Should have completed the Basic course in Biomedical Research from Institutions designated by NMC.

Name of the Post: Professor, Emergency Medicine
Academic Qualifications:
MD/DNB (Emergency Medicine)
OR
MD/MS/DNB in General Medicine, Gen. Surgery, Resp. Medicine, Anesthesia, Orthopedics.
Teaching and Research Experience:
i: As Associate Professor for three years in Emergency Medicine or Subjects as mentioned above (General Medicine, Gen. Surgery, Resp. Medicine, Anesthesia, Orthopedics) in a permitted/ recognized medical college/institution.
ii: Special training for three years in Emergency Medicine in a teaching Institution/Centre of Excellence with dedicated service in Emergency Medicine.
iii: Should have at least four Research publications (at least two as Associate Professor) [only original papers, meta-analysis, systematic reviews, and case series that are published in journals indexed in Medline, PubMed Central, Science Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded, Embase, Scopus, Directory of Open Access Journals (DoAJ) will be considered]. The author should be among the first three or corresponding author.
iv: Should have completed the NMC recognized basic course in Medical Education Technology.
v: Should have completed the basic course in Biomedical Research from Institution(s) designated by NMC.

Name of the Post: Assistant Professor
Academic Qualifications: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject.
Teaching and Research Experience:
a) Essential: One year as Senior Resident in the concerned subject in a recognized/ permitted medical college after acquiring MD/MS Degree.
b) Desirable: Three years as Senior Resident /Tutor/Demonstrator/Registrar/Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the concerned subject in a recognized/ permitted medical college after acquiring MD/MS Degree.

Determination of equivalence of the qualification of DNB (Broad Specialties) with MD/MS:
The Diplomate of National Board (DNB) in broad specialty and super specialty qualifications when granted in a medical institution with attached hospital or in a hospital with the strength of five hundred or more beds, by the National Board of Examinations, shall be equivalent in all respects to the corresponding broad specialty (MD/MS) and super specialty (DM/MCh) postgraduate qualification, but in all other cases, senior residency in a medical college for an additional period of one year shall be required for such qualification to be equivalent for the purposes of teaching.

b) Desirable: Three years as Senior Resident /Tutor/Demonstrator/Registrar/Assistant Professor/Lecturer in the concerned subject in a recognized/ permitted medical college after acquiring MD/MS Degree.

Name of the Post: Senior Resident on contract basis under Three (03) years Senior Residency Scheme
Education & Experience: MBBS with PG Degree or equivalent in concerned specialty from recognized university.

Terms of Contract/ Tenure :-

1. Teaching Faculty:
   The initial period of contract of teaching faculty will be for 3 (Three) years at the outset, which may be further extended upto 2 (Two) years on yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance. The maximum tenure of engagement/contract will be 5 (Five) years or attaining 70 years of age or joining of regular faculty, whichever is earlier.
2. Senior Resident:
   The period of contract is for a period of 03 (three) years subject to renewal / extension every year, which is also subject to satisfactory performance / service. For Academic Senior Resident.

General Instructions:

1. The recruitments will be purely on contractual basis and selected candidates will have no claim for regularization of the service in the hospital.
2. Private practices of any kind will not be allowed for full time contractual engagements.
3. ESI Corporation may increase or decrease or cancel filling up of any or all the post without assigning any reasons at the discretion of the Appointing Authority.
4. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.
5. Canvassing in any form shall be disqualification.
6. Hostel accommodation/ quarters will not be provided.
7. The candidate who is in service should submit “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of interview.
8. The posts are contractual and the contractual engagement may be terminated/ discontinued by either side giving one month prior notice to this effect without assigning any reason.
9. The decision of the Selection Board will be final on all aspects of selection and no further correspondence will be entertained under any circumstances.
10. In case of non-availability of the candidates of appropriate category, candidates from other category can be considered for appointment on contractual basis for period of less than 45 days against reserved posts for SC, ST & OBC as per order No.36036/3/2018 Estt. (Res.) dated 15.05.2018 of Govt. of India. The contract will be renewable with further advertisement in absence of reserved candidates.
11. The Selection is subject to the candidates proving their medical fitness.
12. In case of selection, OFFER OF APPOINTMENT will be issued as per requirement.
13. The selected candidates will have to furnish a DD/Bankers Cheque for an amount of Rs. 30,000/-(Rupees Thirty Thousand only) drawn in favour of “ESI Fund Account No. 1” payable at Guwahati, towards security deposit.
14. If the selected candidate resigns/terminates his/her contract within 09 months of commencement of the contract with or without prior notice, the amount of Rs. 30,000/- deposited as security money will be forfeited.
15. No Private practice is allowed during the tenure of service in ESIC.
16. Retired candidates from Central/ State Govt. / PSU from the equivalent posts are eligible to apply. Persons working in recognized/ approved Private Medical Institutions fulfilling eligibility criteria for the post may also apply.
17. Certain specialties like Statistics, Anatomy, Physiology, and Pharmacology for which non-medical teaching faculties may be hired, the engagement will be at same rates as for medical teaching faculty except that their consolidated remuneration will be arrived after reducing the element of NPA.
    a) Candidates with eligibility for a higher post, i.e. Professor/ Associate Professor, would be permitted to be interviewed against a lower post, i.e. Associate/ Assistant Professor.
    b) In event of selection of such candidates, the candidate would be considered for placement with suitable upgradation of the lower post as per eligibility; and recommendation of the selection board.
