Government of Assam Special Educators in Upper Primary (UP) Schools Recruitment

With a view to support, strengthen and improve the quality of Elementary Education in Assam in compliance with the Right to Education Act, 2009 and in pursuance of the Hon’ble Supreme Court Judgement dated 28.10.2021 and 21.07.2022 (Writ Petition (C) No. 132/2016), online applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens and permanent residents of Assam for recruitment of Special Educators in Upper Primary (UP) Schools under the Directorate of Elementary Education, Assam.

Vacancy Details:

• Post: Special Educator in UP Schools
• Total Vacancies: 108 (One Hundred Eight)
• Pay Scale: PB-2, ₹14,000 – ₹70,000 + Grade Pay ₹8,700 and other allowances as per Assam Service (Revision of Pay) (Amendment) Rules, 2019.
• Reservation: OBC/MOBC/SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/PwD/Women/Ex-Servicemen as per Government rules (details will be notified later).

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Educational Qualification
   • Graduate with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. (Special Education), recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
   • Must have passed ATET/CTET for Upper Primary Schools.
2. Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025):
   • 18 to 40 years (Unreserved)
   • 42 years (Ex-Servicemen)
   • 43 years (OBC/MOBC)
   • 45 years (SC/ST(P)/ST(H))
   • 50 years (PwD)
3. Other Conditions:
   • Candidate must be an Indian Citizen (Article 5–8 of the Constitution) and permanent resident of Assam.
   • Either Language-I or Language-II of ATET/CTET must match the medium of instruction of the school applied for.
   • Candidates with more than two living children on or after 01/01/2021 are not eligible (as per Govt. Small Family Norms).
