📚 Educational Qualification

  1. Navik (General Duty): Class 12th passed with Maths and Physics from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
  2. Navik (Domestic Branch): Class 10th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
  3. Yantrik:
    • Class 10th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 03 or 04 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
      OR
    • Class 10th & Class 12th passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) “AND” Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 02 or 03 years approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

🎯 Age Criteria

  • For all posts: 18 to 22 years
  • Applicable date ranges:
    • Navik (GD & DB): Born between 01 August 2004 and 31 July 2008
    • Yantrik: Born between 01 March 2004 and 28 February 2008
  • Age relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years

💰 Application Fee

  • General / OBC / EWS: ₹300/-
  • SC / ST: Exempted
  • Payment Mode: Online (Net Banking / UPI / Credit Card / Debit Card)

🧪 Selection Procedure

The selection of candidate is based on their performance in Stage-I, II, III & IV (explained in detail at para 6) of the Advertisement, meeting the laid down medical standards during medical examination and the number of vacancies available for the post in respective batch. Qualification in Stage-I, II, III, IV is compulsory for recruitment in ICG. The selection of candidates for the post of Yantriks will be only for CGEPT-01/26 & for Navik(DB) will for CGEPT-02/26. However, selection of candidates for the post of Navik(GD) in either CGEPT-01/26 or CGEPT-02/26 batch will be based on order of merit, available vacancies and administrative requirement. Candidates cannot claim their selection in a particular batch. All candidates will be compulsorily subjected to identity check prior commencement of the examination of Stage- I, II & III of CGEPT.

The selection is conducted through four stages:

  1. Stage I – Computer-Based Examination + Document Verification + Biometric Capture
  2. Stage II – Assessment, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Initial Medical Examination
  3. Stage III – Final Medical Examination at INS Chilka
  4. Stage IV – Submission of all original documents for verification and final enrolment procedures

📝 Examination Pattern

For Navik (GD) & Yantrik

  • Section I: Maths, Science, English, Reasoning, GK (60 Questions – 45 Minutes)
  • Section II: Physics & Mathematics (50 Questions – 30 Minutes)

For Navik (DB)

  • Single Section (Mathematics, Science, English, Reasoning, GK – 60 Questions – 45 Minutes)

Note: Minimum passing marks:

  • UR / OBC / EWS: 50%
  • SC / ST: 45%

🏃 Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

  • 1.6 km run in 7 minutes
  • 20 squats (Uthak Baithak)
  • 10 push-ups
    All activities to be performed in succession without breaks.

  4. Upload required documents and photographs as per specifications
  5. Pay the examination fee

  • Only one application per candidate is permitted.
  • Multiple applications will be rejected.
  • Candidates must carry valid photo ID and original documents throughout all stages.
  • Tattoos are allowed only as per the Indian Coast Guard tattoo policy.
  • Final selection is subject to medical fitness and document verification at INS Chilka.
