Recruitment of Senior Court Assistant-cum-Senior Programmer and Junior Court Assistant-cum-Junior Programmer

Online applications are invited from Indian citizens who fulfill the following qualifications and other eligibility conditions as on 01.04.2025 for selection of suitable candidates for appointment to 6 posts of Senior Court Assistant-cum-Senior Programmer and 20 posts of Junior Court Assistant-cum-Junior Programmer (Group ‘B’ Non Gazetted posts) in the Registry of the Supreme Court of India. It may be noted that the number of vacancies may change subject to requirement.

VACANCY DETAILS

Name of the Post: Senior Court Assistant-cum-Senior Programmer
Method of Recruitment: By direct recruitment
Pay Band: Pay Level 8 of Pay Matrix with initial basic pay of Rs. 47600/- plus other allowances as admissible under the rules
Age Limit: The candidate should be above 18 years and below 35 years. Usual relaxation in age will be admissible to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-servicemen candidates and to the candidates belonging to dependents of Freedom Fighter category as per extant Government Rules. There will be no upper age limit for eligible employees working in the Registry of Supreme Court of India. The relaxation in upper age limit will not be applicable to the candidates who are working in other Government Departments/Public Sector Undertakings.
Qualifications, experience and other eligibility conditions for appointment by direct recruitment:
Bachelor of Engineering/ Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science/ Information Technology from a recognised University or equivalent and 6 years’ experience in the field of Computerization
OR
Master’s degree in Computer Application/ M.Sc in Computer Science from a recognised University or equivalent and 6 years’ experience in the field of computerization
OR
B.Sc. in Computer Science/ Bachelor in Computer Application with First Class or atleast 60% marks in aggregate from a recognised University or equivalent and 7 years’ experience in the field of computerization
Degree in Law from a recognised University will be preferred and considered as an additional qualification.

Scheme of Examination:
1. Written (Objective Type) Test comprising questions relating to General English, General Awareness, Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude
2. Objective Type Technical Aptitude Test
3. Practical Aptitude Test
4. Interview

Name of the Post: Junior Court Assistant-cum-Junior Programmer
Method of Recruitment: By direct recruitment
Pay Band: Pay Level 6 of Pay Matrix with initial basic pay of Rs. 35400/- plus other allowances as admissible under the rules
Age Limit: The candidate should be above 18 years and below 30 years. Usual relaxation in age will be admissible to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-servicemen candidates and to the candidates belonging to dependents of Freedom Fighter category as per extant Government Rules. There will be no upper age limit for eligible employees working in the Registry of Supreme Court of India. The relaxation in upper age limit will not be applicable to the candidates who are working in other Government Departments/Public Sector Undertakings.

RESERVATION
Reservation in direct recruitment for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and differently abled shall be in accordance with the Rules, Orders and Notifications issued from time to time by the Government of India in respect of posts carrying the pay scale corresponding to the pay scale prescribed for the posts of Senior Court Assistant-cum-Senior Programmer and Junior Court Assistant-cum-Junior Programmer, subject to such modification, variation or exception as Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India may, from time to time, specify.
The candidates who qualify in Objective Type Written Test and Objective Type Technical Aptitude Test will only be called to appear in Practical Aptitude Test and those who qualify the Practical Aptitude Test will be required to appear for an Interview before an Interview Board and qualify the interview by securing minimum qualifying marks. The minimum qualifying marks in each test and interview are 50% marks. However, the number of qualified candidates will be restricted to maximum 10 times of the number of the vacancies for Practical Aptitude Test. Similarly, for interview for both the posts, the number of qualified candidates will be restricted to maximum 3 times of total number of vacancies for each post.
After qualifying in prescribed tests and Interview, the selected candidates will be empanelled in the order of merit. The candidate may note that mere placement in panel does not confer any right on the candidates to claim appointment to post of Senior Court Assistant-cum-Senior Programmer and post of Junior Court Assistant-cum-Junior Programmer.
The Tests will be conducted at five cities, i.e., Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bengaluru (Bangalore). The candidates will have to exercise option to select any two cities in order of preference. Candidates may note that he/she may be shifted to some other city excluding the given preference due to administrative reasons.

Registration of application and payment of fee
Eligible candidates are required to apply online separately for both posts for which the link will be provided through Supreme Court Website, www.sci.gov.in. The application for each post will be accepted through online registration only. Candidates will be required to pay non-refundable Application/Test fee of Rs. 1000/- for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Differently Abled/Dependent of Freedom Fighter candidates plus bank charges through online mode only. Fee shall not be accepted in any other form. No postal application shall be accepted. The fee shall be paid online through payment gateway provided by UCO Bank.

Starting/Closing Date for online applications
The starting date for online registration of application is 06.06.2025 and last date thereof is 27.06.2025 at 11.55 P.M.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. The candidates applying for the posts of Senior Court Assistant-cum-Senior Programmer and Junior Court Assistant-cum-Junior Programmer should ensure that they fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions for the post. Their admission at all the stages of examination viz., Written/Technical Aptitude Test/Practical Aptitude Test and the Interview will be purely provisional subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions by way of furnishing documentary proof in support thereof and all the requisite documents for eligibility of his/her candidature for the said post will be checked at the time of interview. If on verification at any time before or after the said tests/interview, it is found that the candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without any notice or further reference. The candidates may note that he/she has to apply separately for each post.
  2. The candidate will be required to upload the scanned copy of his/her recent photograph, signature and requisite documents while submitting the online application form in accordance with the instructions displayed on the link provided for the purpose. Candidates should ensure that the particulars filled in the online application form are correct in all respects before final submission of application form. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn or modified.
  3. The candidate shall be required to fill up the required data in the application and make payment of fee online in accordance with the instructions displayed on the link provided for the purpose.
  4. After successful completion of online application form, candidates will be able to preview his/her application. Candidates are advised to get a printout of the filled up application form for his/her record. Printout of filled up application need not be sent to the Registry.
  5. The candidate should retain his/her Application number carefully for generation of admit card from the link to be provided on the website of Supreme Court of India and for any other information regarding prescribed Tests/Interview.

  7. In case a candidate submits more than one application form, he/she must note that application which is submitted in last will only be entertained by the Registry. No correspondence requesting to accept previous application(s) will be entertained by the Registry.
  8. Candidates must note that fee once paid will not be refunded in any circumstances even in cases where fee for more than one application form has been paid by a candidate. The candidates of General/OBC categories paying application fee as prescribed for reserved category will not be taken into consideration.
  9. Name and Date of Birth entered in the High School Certificate/10th Board Examination or equivalent certificate issued by the concerned Board/Council will only be accepted. Any change in name or surname should be supported by Gazette notification. The applicant is to submit his online application as per changed name/surname and the documents in support of change of name/surname will be verified at the time of interview.
  10. PENALTY FOR MISCONDUCT IN THE EXAMINATION: An applicant, who is or has been declared guilty of impersonation or of submitting fabricated document(s) or which has been tampered with or of making statements which are incorrect or false, or of suppressing material information or of using or attempting support for his candidature, may, in addition to the liability for criminal prosecution would also invite such action as deemed proper at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
  11. No request for change of category filled in online application form will be entertained.
  12. APPLICATION WHICH DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS SHALL BE SUMMARILY REJECTED.
  13. The differently abled candidates will be extended the same concessions/facilities as are allowed by SSC/UPSC in Written Tests conducted by them.
  14. No TA/DA will be payable to the candidates for appearing in the Tests/Interview.
  15. No Admit Cards will be sent by post. The candidates are to download Admit Card for all stages of Tests/Interview from Supreme Court Website.
  16. The dates of the tests and Interview will be notified on the Supreme Court website i.e., www.sci.gov.in. Information will also be sent through SMS and e-mail to the candidates on their registered mobile number and e-mail. Therefore, candidates should have a valid personal E-mail ID and mobile number and it should be kept active during the entire recruitment process.
  17. Candidates working in State/Central Govt. Departments/Bank/PSUs etc. will be required to submit No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of interview.
  18. The Registry reserves its right to short-list candidates in any manner as may be considered appropriate with the approval of Competent Authority. The Registry reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/ modify/alter the recruitment process, if needed, without issuing any notice.
  19. In case of any dispute(s), the jurisdiction will be Delhi.
