Engagement of Apprentices under Apprentices Act, 1961 for F.Y 2025-26

Central Bank of India, a leading Public Sector Bank, with pan India branch network of more than 4,500 plus branches, with total business of more than Rs 7,00,000 crores, driven by committed work force of more than 33,000 plus employees invites applications from the eligible candidates for the engagement of apprentices, under Apprentices Act, 1961 and as per Apprenticeship policy of the Bank. Central Bank of India, established in 1911 is the first Indian Commercial bank which was wholly owned and managed by Indians. Selected candidates will be engaged in branches/offices in the respective regions at the discretion of the Bank.

Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality/Citizenship
A candidate must be either
i. a Citizen of India or
ii. a subject of Nepal or
iii. a subject of Bhutan or
iv. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
v. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age (as on 31.05.2025) and Educational Qualification:

Registration: Candidates registered on the NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) portal are eligible to apply.

Age: Minimum: 20 years, Maximum: 28 years*

Age Relaxation:
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: By 5 years
Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): By 3 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): PwBD (UR/EWS)-10 years, PwBD (OBC)- 13 years, PwBD (SC/ST)- 15 years.
Widows, divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried: Age concession up to the age of 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC, and 40 years for SC/ST candidates.

Educational Qualification: A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Duration of Training: Period of engagement shall be of 12 months.

Selection Process:
Selection for engagement of candidates who apply for apprenticeship in the Bank after paying requisite online fee shall have to undergo the selection process based on Online Examination to be conducted by BFSI SSC and Test of Local Language of the State.

Final Selection:

  • The final selection of the apprentices will be subject to Being found Medically Fit as per the requirement of the Bank.
  • Meeting the cut-off marks and being in the merit in the online examination to be decided by the Bank.
  • Satisfactory verification of the documents related to Date of Birth/Category/Educational Qualification and other information furnished in the online application.

Contract of Apprenticeship:
Candidates found suitable for engagement based on the merit list after successful document verification shall be issued digital apprenticeship contracts through the government apprenticeship portals, i.e. https://nats.education.gov.in
Candidates shall receive the link for the digital apprenticeship contract from the BFSI SSC and need to accept it on the respective portal(s) within a stipulated time/date as mentioned therein. No candidate shall be engaged as an Apprentice or undergo apprenticeship training in any designated trade/optional trade unless and until he/she enters Contract of Apprenticeship with the Bank and the same is approved by the Authorities of the respective Portals.

Duration of training:
The duration of training is period of twelve months. The apprentices shall be imparted training on different aspects of banking practices, products and processes.

Stipend/Benefits:
The apprentices are eligible for a stipend of Rs 15,000/- per month for the engagement period of one year. The apprentices are not eligible for any other allowances/benefits.

Assessment and Certification:
After the completion of apprenticeship training, apprentices may need to go through an assessment test. The certificate will be awarded as per prevailing guidelines.

Application/Examination/Intimation Fees :

  • All Other Candidates : Rs. 800/-+GST
  • PWBD candidates : Rs. 400/-+GST
  • Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribe / All Women candidates/EWS : Rs. 600/-+GST

GUIDELINES FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION:

  • Candidates can apply online, and no other mode of application will be accepted.
  • Candidates should mandatorily first register themselves, if eligible, in the apprenticeship portals of Government of India viz NATS portal https://nats.education.gov.in (Navigate to the “Student Register/Login” section).
  • In case the candidates are facing issues in getting themselves registered they are advised to go through the help manual available on the respective apprenticeship portals. For NATS portal refer to “Candidate User Manual” on https://nats.education.gov.in/assets/manual/student_manual.pdf.
  • All candidates are supposed to remember their respective login id and passwords of the apprenticeship portals as applicable to them, as they will be repetitively visiting the apprenticeship portals for various activities till their completion of the apprenticeship program.
  • For NATS portal, candidates can view the Apprenticeship Advertisement of “Central Bank of India” after login into the portal by visiting https://nats.education.gov.in/student_type.php.
  • It is very IMPORTANT for all candidates who have applied to MAKE NOTE of their Enrolment Id (issued by NATS portal) for all the future correspondence.
  • All Candidates who have applied successfully for the Apprenticeship Opportunity/Advertisement on NATS will receive an email from BFSI SSC (info@bfsissc.com) inviting them to give required details about the caste category, choice of districts for their training, etc. and make the payment of the Application Fees.
