Vacancy Overview

- Age Limit: Up to 27 years (Age relaxation applicable for reserved categories as per Government rules)
This recruitment offers a platform for technically skilled candidates to work in different departments of IIT Guwahati, contributing to infrastructure, workshop activities, and high-end research facilities.
Department-wise Posts and Eligibility
- Infrastructure Planning & Management (IPM) – 3 Posts (2 UR, 1 EWS)
- Qualification: ITI Certificate in Electrician Trade with 3 years of relevant experience in handling 33/11 KV and 11/0.433 KV substations and DG sets.
- Note: ITI certificate obtained after Class 10 will be considered.
- Central Workshop – 2 Posts (UR)
- One post requires ITI in Carpentry with 3 years of work experience.
- The other post requires either a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI in Turner with 3 years’ experience, preferably with CNC machine operation.
- Central Instruments Facility (CIF) – 1 Post (UR)
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Physics/Chemistry OR Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Engineering disciplines such as Electrical & Electronics, Engineering Physics, Biotechnology, or Chemical Engineering.
- Desirable: At least one year of hands-on experience in operating advanced analytical instruments in academic, industrial, or research setups. Preference will be given to candidates experienced with Spectrophotometers, Mass Spectrometers, X-ray Diffractometers, Electron Microscopes, Magnetometers, etc.
Application Fee
- ₹500/- for General and OBC candidates.
- Exempted for SC/ST, Women, and PwBD candidates.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will include a Written Test and/or Skill Test. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for these stages. Final selection will be based on performance in the test(s).
