NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY SILCHAR Apprenticeship 2025

Applications are invited from aspiring candidates of Assam only for Graduate Apprentice (Engineering/Non-Engineering)/Technician Apprentice (Diploma) Training in various Disciplines for a period of 1 year as per the details below:

VACANCY ASSAM

a) Graduate Apprenticeship Trainees (Engineering) (BE/B.Tech): Total – 07

1. Discipline (BE/B.Tech in following disciplines): Civil Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 1
2. Discipline: Mechanical Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 1
3. Discipline: Electrical Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 1
4. Discipline: Electronics & Communication Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 1
5. Discipline: Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 1
6. Discipline: Computer Science & Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 2

Minimum Qualification: A degree in engineering or technology granted by statutory University/by an institution empowered to award such degree by an act of Parliament. Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by the Central Government as equivalent to degree.

b) Graduate Apprenticeship Trainees (Non-Engineering) (B.Sc/B.A): Total – 09

1. Discipline (B.Sc/B.A in following disciplines): Chemistry
   Total Vacancies: 3
2. Discipline: Physics
   Total Vacancies: 3
3. Discipline: Economics
   Total Vacancies: 3

Minimum Qualification: A bachelor’s degree (regular) in relevant field granted by statutory University/by an institution empowered to award such degree by the State Government or Central Government.

c) Technician (Diploma) Apprenticeship Trainees: Total – 17

1. Discipline: Civil Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 3
2. Discipline: Mechanical Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 2
3. Discipline: Electrical Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 4
4. Discipline: Electronics & Communication Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 3
5. Discipline: Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 3
6. Discipline: Computer Science & Engineering
   Total Vacancies: 2

Minimum Qualification: A diploma in engineering or technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government/by a University/by an Institute recognized by the State Govt. or the Central Govt.

Note: :-
For the above mentioned vacancies, reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS categories will be applicable as per provisions of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rules, Central Apprentice Rules 1992 and Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2015 & 2019.

Part 1: Important instructions:

1. The Apprenticeship Training under different disciplines in NIT Silchar is purely temporary for period of one year.
2. For B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc/B.A/Diploma apprentice trainees, candidate who have completed their degree after submission of
   this application are not eligible.
3. Candidates with higher qualification are not eligible to apply.
4. Candidates who have completed their degree/diploma between 2020 to 2024 are only eligible to apply.
5. OBC certificate whose validity has expired would not be accepted for granting concession.
6. Applications of those candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination but whose results have not been
   declared/ available as on advt date will not be considered for training. Provisional Degree certificates of qualifying exam
   would however be acceptable during the time of joining, but final degree certificates shall have to be submitted as &
   when received.
7. Those candidates who have completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates are only eligible to apply.
8. Selection of candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS category would be as per Apprenticeship rules.
9. PWD candidates are eligible only for the designated trades as per apprenticeship rules.
10. Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or at present undergoing apprenticeship
    training under any organization are not eligible to apply.
11. Candidates with more than one year work experience are not eligible to apply.
12. No TA/DA shall be given to the candidates for interview/ document verification/ joining.
13. The apprentices will not be provided any quarters/ hostel accommodation by this establishment at the time of interview
    and also during the training period.
14. Decision of Selection Committee is final and binding. Institute reserves right to cancel the section at any point of time.
15. Applications received after the due date, or application not in prescribed NITS form or incomplete applications without
    enclosures etc., will be summarily rejected. No communication is entertained.

Part 2: Stipend:

Candidates finally selected for the apprenticeship training would be eligible for stipend as given below as per Govt. of India rules:
Graduate Apprentice (Engineering/Non-Engineering graduates) Rs 9000.00/-
Technician Apprentice (Diploma holders) Rs 8000.00/-

Part 3: Medical Fitness:

The candidate should possess satisfactory health. Candidates finally selected will have to produce fitness Certificate from a
Government Medical Officer or from Sr. Medical Officer of this institute at the time of joining. Final selection of the
candidate depends upon his/her fulfilling health standards as prescribed in Apprentice Act, 1961 and apprentice Rule 1992 as
amended from time to time.

Part 4: Selection process:

1. Graduate Apprentice Trainees (B.E/B.Tech./B.Sc/B.A/Equivalent) ; Diploma Apprentice Trainees: The guidelines
   for selection/qualifying examination shall be notified duly in the institute website www.nits.ac.in and the final short
   listing will be on the basis of marks obtained in that examination.
2. Details of short listed candidates will be published in the website of NIT Silchar i.e www.nits.ac.in. Candidates are
   advised to check the website regularly for updates.

Part 5: How to Apply:

1. Candidates should first register themselves in the recruitment portal of National Institute of Technology Silchar. For
   registration log on to recruitment.nits.ac.in/bopt/index.php
2. Candidates are requested to fill up correct details against all the fields along with uploading of scanned copies of all
   the mandatory documents (as per list mentioned below).
3. The marks obtained in the qualifying exam are to be mentioned in percentage. In case of CGPA, candidates are
   requested to convert the CGPA into percentage as per their university norms and the same will be verified during
   document verification.
4. Candidates are required to bring a signed printout of the application along with the originals of the documents
   submitted online at the time of physical document verification at NIT Silchar.
5. Online Applications after the last date would not be accepted. Incomplete or partially filled application forms would
   not be accepted.

Part 6: General Instructions:

1. It should be noted that the selection and training of apprentices are strictly in compliance with the provisions of Apprentice Act 1961 and its amendments and NO EMPLOYMENT IS GUARANTEED TO THE APPRENTICES ON COMPLETION OF THEIR TRAINING.
2. Candidates before filling the application form shall ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions for the apprenticeship training. If at any stage of selection or even after selection and joining or during training, it comes to notice that the candidate /trainee does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions or the facts stated are not true or the documents enclosed by the applicant are false/forged, the candidature /appointment /joining of such individual shall be withdrawn immediately without assigning any reason.
3. All applicants are required to bring self attested copy of documents mentioned below along with the printout of the application form during document verification/joining:-
   
   Documents to be carried :
   (1) 10th / 12th Mark sheet and certificate.
   (2) B.E/B.Tech/B.Sc /B.A/DipIoma Mark sheets for all semesters.
   (3) Degree /Provisional Degree /Diploma Certificate.
   (4) Caste Certificate (if applicable).
   (5) PWD Certificate (if applicable).
   (6) Photo ID Card issued by Govt. of India/Aadhaar Card.
   (7) EWS certificate (if applicable).
   (8) Two Passport size photographs.
   
4. The Management reserves the right to amend / refix / cancel suspends the selection process without assigning any reason whatsoever. The decision of the Management shall be final and binding and no appeal of any kind shall be accepted / entertained / considered in this regard.
5. No correspondence shall be entertained from the candidates not selected for training.
6. Selected list of candidates for certificate verification will be published on : www.nits.ac.in
7. Selected candidates shall have to sign a contract on the date of joining as per Govt. of India rules.
8. The last date of submission of online application form duly completed in all respects is 20th July 2025.
